Windows taskbar is one of the most important features improving productivity at a huge scale. No one wants to spend time searching for the desired program just to launch it. That’s why there is a taskbar in Windows that can be used to pin the shortcuts to your most used applications. This saves a ton of time manually searching for the program from the Windows search or other sections. But still, there can be situations, you no longer want the taskbar to hang around at the bottom. You simply want to hide it. Whatever the reason is, here is how you can hide the Windows 10 taskbar.
Steps to Hide Taskbar in Windows 10
- Right-click on the taskbar.
- Uncheck the box saying Lock the taskbar. Now, if you try, you will be able to move the taskbar to any side of the screen. If that isn’t enough, follow along.
- From the same right-click menu, go to Taskbar settings.
- Toggle the button saying Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode. If you just want to hide it in tablet mode, you can enable the option underneath it.
That’s it. The Windows 10 taskbar will be automatically hidden from now on. Don’t worry, it didn’t get completely removed. If you try moving the mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen, you will notice that the taskbar sneaks up. Permanently Hide the Taskbar
If you are not satisfied with just hiding the taskbar but want to completely remove it. There are a couple of options you can follow. You will either have to customize the Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) which will be much harder than using a custom tool that hides the taskbar. There are several tools on the market for this purpose. You can just search for them and use one that you find is suitable for your needs.
