One of the most used services in recent times by everyone is Google Maps. We know that Google’s Maps beat the Apple Maps and other similar services hands down. This is because of the wide availability of Maps in every part of the world as well as better navigation etc.

It is also one of the most preferred services for commuters who are going to work every day. Because Google Maps shows distance as well as train and bus timings for certain regions.

However, a new feature has now been added to Google Maps which seems to be a game changer. This feature will now tell you how crowded your bus of train might be. Yes, your Google Maps application will tell you if you will get a sit on your bus or train to work or not.

This is a feature which is hard to believe but we think that this might be possible with Google’s Machine Learning and other capabilities.

Google today announced that Google Maps will now offer live traffic delays for buses in cities which don’t provide real-time updates already. However, the other feature is the one which is a lot useful for commuters and is not available anywhere.

It is that Google Maps will tell you how crowded your bus, train or subway is. This will also help you decide if you should take this train/subway/tram or to wait for another one depending on the crowd.

Now, we have understood that Google, back in October, started asking people if they traveled during peak hours. And if so, did they have enough seats or there was standing room in there. Later, Google has been able to make a prediction model based on the data over a period of time and is now capable enough to predict the data for each and every line.
