BlackBerry Aurora Specifications, Price, Release date, Pros And Cons

BlackBerry Aurora has been recently released loaded with Android Nougat in Indonesia in black, silver, or gold color variants. However, the handset was not announced during the recently concluded MWC 2017. Exclusively designed and manufactured by BB Merah Putih, the Aurora handset will be initially available in Indonesia. The company is licensed by BlackBerry to design, manufacture and distribute the handset in the country.

Specifications

BlackBerry Aurora features a 5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display. The addition of HD display is disappointing because you will not be able to make full potential of the display real estate.

Under the hood, the BlackBerry Aurora is equipped with a Snapdragon 425 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 8MP selfie snapper loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. You can extend the storage space using microSD cards.

With a weight of 178 grams, the phone gets adequate power from the 3000mAh battery. The rear camera offers dual LED flash, which helps you to capture crisp photos even during low-light conditions.

The highlight of BlackBerry Aurora is that it ships with BlackBerry Hub, which is an integrated messaging inbox. You will be able to read emails, text messages and social media handles such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram from within a single interface. You need not have to install separate apps.

Release Date

BlackBerry recently opened pre-orders for the phone between March 3 to March 12 for IDR 34,99,000 ($260). As part of the launch offer, the company provided JBL Go speaker including a smart flip cover for free along with the product package.

Pros

  • Large display
  • Storage expansion capability
  • Powerful battery
  • Android Nougat
  • Addition of BlackBerry Hub

Cons

  • HD display
  • Mediocre processor
  • Limited to Indonesia
  • Expensive

Conclusion

BlackBerry Aurora will be an excellent smartphone for users who crave for large display space coupled with premium features. The default storage of 32GB will be ideal for people to start with since they can install apps easily. The addition of Android Nougat is a brilliant move by the company since you can experience all the new features of the latest Android platform.
