Updated – Search Images on Google Very Quickly with Search by Image Extension

A new extension by Google is going to help you with your image searching needs. Those that search for images constantly on the search engine will actually be glad about this extension. Search Images on Google allows you to initiate Google search using any image on the web.

This extension comes after an announcement by Google concerning the issue of reverse image searching. According to Google, this can be done by uploading an image or by directing the search engine to an image URL. Previously, users of Google image search would have to upload an image and search for images similar to it. Considering the success of this feature, it comes as no surprise that the Silicon Valley-based company decided to release an extension to make things easier for their users.

You can get this extension via the Chrome Web store. Search for the “Search by Image Extension, ” and you’ll find it. At this point, click on install, and you’ll have it in your browser. To use this extension, all you need to do is visit any web page. Scroll to the image that you’d like to search. Right-click on the image and select “Search Google with this Image”.

Don’t worry Google will do the rest. Alternatively, you could also add a clickable search by image icon that’ll appear when you point to an image. Clicking on the camera icon or right clicking will open a new tab on the browser. This new tab will have the results of your search.

Looking at the near future, it seems that Google might decide to bake this feature right into the browser. This’ll mean that there is no need to download the extension. You can use this feature anytime you want to. Hopefully, Google can make this happen and that it will be stable enough to use all the time when needed.
