The price of Xiaomi Mi 5C is not yet officially announced. At the Gearbest online store, Xiaomi Mi 5C is displayed with the arrival notice tag. The price mentioned in Gearbest is $480. Specs and Review
Design and Display
Xiaomi Mi 5C has a 5.5-inch screen with 2.5D curved glass and full HD screen resolution. The design keeps the regular Xiaomi mid-level standard. It looks thin on the sides. It has round edges like many mid-level smartphones. The fingerprint scanner is front mounted just below the screen.
CPU
The device comes with Pinecone V670 in the Chinese edition. This new CPU has Octa-core processor which clocks at a 2.2Ghz frequency. This Pinecone V670 is said to be an equivalent of Snapdragon 625 SoC in the mid-level. That is a decent level in performance.
RAM and Storage
There will be 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage in Xiaomi Mi 5C. The 3GB RAM is a standard specification. It is a good choice for multitasking performance and gaming performance.
Software
Xiaomi Mi 5C runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow under the Xiaomi’s user interface MIUI 8. When Xiaomi updates the MIUI user interface, we can expect Xiaomi Mi 5C would also get updated to Android 7.0 Nougat.
Camera
It has a 12MP rear camera with flash light and autofocus features and an 8MP front camera. The interesting thing is the support for 4K video recording. It is rare to see in a mid-level smartphone.
Battery
A 3200mAh built-in battery is the powerhouse of Xiaomi Mi 5C. This is a decent battery in terms of capacity.
Other Features and Connectivity
The following are the connectivity features of GPRS, Edge, 3G, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth V4.1, GPS, FM Radio, and USB. The fingerprint scanner is located on the front side which acts as a home button and also locks and unlock the device and apps.
