You can delete your account in two ways such as temporary deactivation and permanent deactivation.
Instagram Temporary Deactivation
The temporary deactivation helps you to delete your Instagram account on a temporary basis. Your data will not be deleted. The photos and images that you have uploaded will be hidden until you reactivate your account.
- To perform temporary deactivation, you need to visit the official website of Instagram and sign in.
- You need to click on your profile located at the top right corner of the display.
- Here select the “edit profile” option.
- Select “temporarily disable my account” option located at the bottom right of the display.
You should provide an explanation as to why you are leaving the application. You need to provide your password again and select Temporarily disable my account option.
Instagram Permanent Deactivation (Permanently Delete Instagram)
As the name suggests, the permanent deactivation enables you to delete all data including photos, videos, and posts. You have to complete the procedure via a browser, smartphone, tablet or PC. You should note that the permanent step will delete all your photos, videos, and posts. Hence, you should think twice before proceeding with the deletion process.
You need to navigate to Instagram’s “Delete your account” page and log in using your ID and password. You should pick a reason for deletion and supply your password again. After that, select Permanently delete my account option.
