10 Best Android Backup Apps

Best Android Backup Apps

Who would like to lose important files or memories of a beautiful summer or winter? Nobody, of course. And you might think to yourself, sure it won’t happen to me, right? Well, you never know when someone can steal your phone in a subway, or it just might fall from your pocket.

That way you’ll lose precious data that nothing can bring back. So what are the steps you have to take in order to prevent the disaster from happening? They’re very easy, and usually require just a few presses of fingers and you’ll have a failsafe option in case things go awry.

1. Super Backup & Restore

First on our list, and one of the most complete and best Android backup apps is this green beauty. Not only it looks very good, but it’s also designed and optimized as well. There’s an option for all the things that are important to you, and you’d like to keep.

It only requires you to tap the screen a few times once you decide, and that’s it. You can backup apps, your SMS, private contacts, call logs, bookmarks and more. Then all you have to do is choose where – your SD card, Google Drive, Gmail and more. In case anything goes sour, just re-download everything and import, as easy as that!

2. G Cloud Backup

Another great application and it has already picked up praise from Android central and Cnet, both very famous technology websites. If that isn’t a proof of concept enough, keep reading. The app will upload all your messages, contacts, videos, photos, call logs and most importantly – your files. All your pictures from the sea or sightseeing will be saved at a secure place. But also easily downloaded in case you change your device, or if you’d just like to have more of free space. Great choice!

3. Titanium Backup

An app that, in our opinion, deserves a high place, but has a little obstacle. Well, it all depends on how you look at it, as it requires the root of your device to function. Some people just don’t like messing with their phones, as we’ve all heard of bricking and losing your stuff. If you are not one of those, it is one that has quite a lot of options, because you’re the administrator of the device.

Fully backup and later restore almost everything – your files on internal memory and SD card, schedule backups, save your SMS, calls, and of course – connect with cloud services. That way even if you forget to do it, your data will be saved to your Dropbox or Google Drive in periods of time you choose.

4. App Backup & Restore

An app that surprisingly, doesn’t require root permissions, and it has a lot of options for your phone. For example, apart from backing up your apps in order not to lose data, it has an Apk extractor, if you’d like to save that exact version.

All you have to do after that is transfer it to another phone, tap on it, and voila! You’ve got the same app without going to the Google Play store. It goes as far as Apk editing to change details, backing up to a cloud drive, automatically listing all the apps, and in general – saving you a lot of space if it isn’t currently in use.

5. Backup Your Mobile

A bit underrated application that we have personally used, and only 16 thousand people with us. It’s because it has a simple, old-school Android look, and just as you guessed – it works on some older devices, starting with Android 4.0.

We think that’s important in today’s day and age, as technology is moving forward, and those that have weaker, older devices, are left in the dirt. Apart from that, it saves everything – phone contacts, SMS, call logs, passwords, APNs for the Internet, calendar and more. Of course, you can choose whether to place it on an SD card or in the cloud.

6. My Backup

We were attracted by its icon at first, as it features a life buoy. It won’t literally save your life as if you were drowning, but the feeling is pretty close. It allows you to save a lot of space by backing up your photos, videos, messages, calendars and more.

Here, too, is the option to choose between SD card and cloud uploading. In order to get Apk backing up you’ll need to root your device, but even without that – it works just great. It really makes it one of the best Android apps for backup. There’s a Pro version as well, and it adds a plethora of additional features to it.

7. Super Backup

We, too, think this one is super and superb even. It’s only a shame that not a lot of people are actually using it actively, just under a thousand. Here’s hoping that this article will boost their popularity. This one, too, will help you get your stuff back on track after a disaster or just regular yearly phone upgrade.

Yes, you can transfer files manually, but this takes your messages, contacts and all data into consideration. It’s blazing fast from our testing, and it really helped us hold on to memories our loved ones have sent us in the past.

8. Seagate Backup

Another life-saver when it comes to storage running low, or just preventing bad things from happening. You’ve got enough problems in your life to worry about, and the safety of your data shouldn’t be one. It covers everything, your full gallery, videos, music, text and media messages.

It connects to your PC over Wi-Fi network to store data, or if you’re far away from your home, to your Gmail, Dropbox, or other cloud storage accounts. It’s everything at one place option to free up memory for new memories to take place while keeping old ones safe.

9. Dropbox

We just can’t help but feature this app on our list, and you’ve seen it mentioned many times throughout the article. While not exactly a backup app, it’s very close to being one. In case you don’t need your SMS, contacts and call logs, or already have them backed up, this is perfect for you.

It gives you a lot of free storage in the cloud for all your data, images, videos, documents and presentations. You also have one central place that you can access from your PC or other smartphones, allowing for easy transfer. As good as it gets, in our opinion.

10. Helium

In the end, an app with a catchy name, and it signifies your data is up in the clouds, waiting for you to get it back. Best of all – it does not require rooting of your device, so it’s great to use without any worries. It allows full application backup to your storage or as we said, in the clouds.

You can then easily get them back if you buy a new phone, or free some space on your own. Backing up can be scheduled to fit your lifestyle and habits, making it your personal care system in case things go very, very bad. There’s a Premium version too, and it costs just under $5, unlocking many more features that add to the functionality.
