Android has been the operating system of choice for millions of users around the world for varying reasons. Apart from that, we can also change our keyboard from the default one if there are features being offered from external ones that are better than the default ones. Therefore, we are now going to tell you how to change the default keyboard to a different one on your Android smartphone.

  1. Download the desired keyboard app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Now, go to the Settings option on your Android.
  3. Head to Language & Input option.
  4. Here, select the installed keyboard from the list of available keyboards.
  5. Now you finished the keyboard installation process on your Android device.

Now, we need to select a keyboard first of all from the Google Play Store and one of the best Keyboard app currently available for Android is Gboard which is developed by Google. Therefore, download Gboard from the Google Play Store first of all and install it on your smartphone.

After that, you need to head over to the Settings of your Android smartphone and go to language & input option. Here, select keyboard & input methods and tap on the current keyboard. Now, you will get a list of all the Keyboards that you have installed apart from the installed one.

Therefore, choose Gboard which you just installed and click on Ok. Thus, Gboard will now become the default keyboard on your Android smartphone. After this, you might be prompted to finish the Gboard setup so go to the Gboard application and finish the setup process. Once the setup is completed, the Keyboard installation process on your Android smartphone has been completed.
