RealMe OPPO’s sub-brand have been working really hard to make sure that Xiaomi is no more ruling the Indian market, and hence they are launching different products in the range wherein Xiaomi is currently on the top of the throne.
Even the RealMe 2 Pro is a great device, and we review the same recently too, today we are talking about another offering from the brand the RealMe C1, we will have a look at its different features, and will let you know if that is actually up to your taste and will suffice your need for the next couple of months, or majorly a couple of years.
Design & Build
Starting with the material of the device, as is the case with most of the devices from the brand even this one is made up of a plastic body and hence this gives the phone a light and easy to carry appeal. The phone does look fat, still is easy to hold due to its structure.
The outer frame of the phone is quite good and doesn’t easily picks up fingerprints, but the same doesn’t go with the front and back of the device. Overall the phone doesn’t get any issues in the build quality, and even when you are holding the device the phone does feels premium in hand despite it being a body made up of plastic.
At the back we get a dual camera set up along with a single tone flash, all this is placed to the top left side of the device. RealMe branding is at the bottom of the phone in the center.
Coming to the front of the phone RealMe have given this phone a notch which makes it looks quite good especially for the price range, it is an interesting feature. The notch carries the front camera, and earpiece, and some sensors. We have the power button to the right and the volume buttons to the left. Design cues on the phone are taken interestingly and it is quite great for us to see how well the phone turns out in real life.
The device comes with a massive 6.2-inch display which is quite efficient to produce all the different 16 million colors in the gamut. The display panel is an IPS LCD one and comes with an aspect ratio of 19:9 which is quite obvious for the phones in 2018.
Covering the display is the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is quite great for the phone of this price. The screen comes with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and hence this results into a pixel density of 271 PPI which is really low especially in 2018 and makes the display of the phone suffer a bit in terms of sharpness.
Coming to the real world usage of the phone, there are no issues with the colors of the phone, and it is quite great to see natural colors from the phone with a good amount of saturation and contrast ratios. When it comes to customizing the colors of the display there are plenty of options on to the software side of the phone, and this makes it quite great for us to view the display according to our need.
During the daytime, the screen can get really bright and hence there is no issue is using the screen of the phone, while during the night time the phone is dark enough that it doesn’t hurt your eyes when you are working on the same while sleeping.
Despite the phone being a budget one still, it has been loaded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chip which is one of the most capable ones which is developed at 14nm technology which makes it an efficient one.
Assisting the processor is the Adreno 506 GPU which will be handling the graphics duty of the phone. There is only a single configuration available of the phone which is the 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage version.
In the real world, the phone performs quite great, although it is quite visible on the phone that the 2GB RAM restricts from loading different applications at the same time.
Due to the lack of RAM there are many applications that do show that they are reaching the max performance of the phone, and hence do note that the phone is not capable of using all the top of the line application and even games, while moderate applications made for social media and normal games are surely going to run well on the device and will perform as per your wish on the mobile phone.
As we told above the phone comes with a dual camera setup on the back and while on the front we get a single camera that too is positioned inside the notch of the phone.
Camera unit on the back comes with a primary sensor of 13MP which happens to have an aperture of f/2.2 while the secondary depth sensing sensor of 2MP which happens to have an aperture value of f/2.4. Talking about the camera doing the front duty it is a 5MP unit having an aperture value of f/2.2.
In the real usage scenario, there are no issues with the camera unit of the phone either on the back or on the front unit. Images captured on the device are great when it comes to rear unit both the daytime and nighttime images are quite up to the mark, while when it comes to the front unit it is not that capable, and is only good for occasional pictures from the phone unit.
Talking about the rear unit cropping of images in the Bokeh images are quite great, while when it comes to front unit, the phone lacks the secondary sensor and there will be no proper cropping of images. Overall both the camera of the phone is great and you will enjoy taking pictures from this set of sensors.
RealMe C1 comes with a gigantic 4230 mAh battery which for sure makes the phone is capable of using it the day long. Don’t forget that even the processor comes with a newer 14nm platform making sure that it also doesn’t take a lot of juice of the battery.
Gaming is not quite possible on the phone and hence if you are using the phone for social media, camera, and calling still you can use the phone the day long and hence there is no need of charging the phone in the middle of the day.
RealMe have joint the pieces the right way and have made the RealMe C1 a great device targeting its different competitors which we reviewed recently, even the build quality of the phone is top notch, and the processor does a good job in loading all the different applications despite it being a phone with 2 GB of RAM.
What do you think about the all-new RealMe C1? Will you use it even as your secondary phone? Do let us know what do you think in the comment section below.
