Microsoft Word comes with a lot of different handy features to make your writing easy and effortless. Alphabetization is one of the key features that help you arrange all the entries in alphabetical order for easy identification. How to Alphabetize a list in Word

Sorting Texts in alphabetical order works the same way in Word, whether you’re doing so on a table, list, or paragraph. still, keep in mind there’s only so important Word can do regarding multiple-position lists.  

In other words, the alphabetization formatting will only work on one list. However, Word will group the lines and sort them alphabetically, which can mess up the document’s donation or intended purpose, If you apply it to several position lists. 

In that case, your stylish bet is to take it one list at a time. You can also copy each list into a separate Word runner or document and then alphabetize it. Now that’s out of the way, let’s move on to Word’s alphabetization formatting.

Here is step 1 of 5:

Open the document containing the list or paragraph you wish to sort alphabetically. In addition to copying it to another page, as suggested previously, you can also paste it into an email.

Step 2:

Select the list you want to sort. When the list is the only part of your document, press Ctrl+A. If it’s part of a larger document, press and drag the cursor over it.

Step 3:

Directly, click the Home tab at the top of the screen and go to the paragraph. And click the Sort icon. A Sort Text window will be open at this point. 

Step 4:

Select the sorting order inside the Sort Text window. Ascending sorts your list in alphabetical order while Descending sorts it in reverse alphabetical order.

Step 5:

If you have two words on your list and you’ll like to alphabetize the list by order of the second Word, click the Options button at the left-bottom corner of the window. Then, go to the Separate Areas By section and click Other.

There you go, that’s all you have to do to alphabetize your texts and lists in Microsoft Word. Keep in mind that all these steps are according to the latest version of Microsoft Word.
