One of the main advantages of having a Google-powered phone such as the Pixel is that you get the first notice if something is going to change. This is also one of the reasons why people buy Pixel phones apart from their camera quality, of course. Talking about the Google Pixel phones, we know that they have Google Messages app as the default messaging app. Also, Google recently added RCS feature to the app which is similar to Apple’s iMessage. Basically, you get read receipts for your message as well as be aware if someone is typing.
Talking about Google Messages, we can now see a new report where the company is testing a new and quicker way to see messages. This new way is with the help of chat bubbles which are similar to what you get on Facebook Messenger. So for every new message you receive, you will get a chat bubble if it is enabled. Also, it makes sense now that RCS is enabled as Google Messages is also a chat app with its addition. However, we also had reports regarding Android 10 having a universal chat bubble feature for each and every notification. However, that seems to have been postponed by Google until the next version of Android.
As far as the Google Messages chat bubble feature seen in testing is concerned, you have an idea pretty similar to Facebook’s Messenger but you get additional quick replies inside the bubbles. Also, you can drag the chat head down to the bottom inside the close button which will remove the bubble. As always, we don’t know when this feature will come to normal users but we expect this feature to definitely come very soon. Similar functionality can be enabled inside your device with the help of Tasker and some tweaks but this is straightforward so you should wait for this.
