Google has officially announced its latest flagship smartphones, the Google Pixel 4 series, in the US. We can also say that almost 99% of the phone was known to us thanks to the extensive leaks of both the devices. Therefore, we can also say that the Google Pixel 4 series holds a record for being the most leaked smartphone in history. Nonetheless, we now know that the Pixel 4 series is official and it comes with dual cameras at the back, Soli Radar and Face Unlock mechanism on the front as well as two screen sizes.
From the front, you won’t feel like Google Pixel 4 series is a smartphone launched in late 2019. Because it comes with a regular bezel at the top while the chin is considerably narrower. This also gives you an uneven look for the top and bottom bezel which is noticeable but you can ignore it over time. However, we have seen smartphones with pop-up cameras and notches and hole-punch cameras so Pixel 4’s design looks outdated.
Anyways, Google’s Pixel 4 series comes in 5.7-inch and 6.3-inch displays, both of which are OLED and come with a 2800 mAh and 3700 mAh battery capacity respectively. Both these devices have identical specifications apart from the display and battery. You get Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage. There are dual cameras and a single one on the front but you also get an autofocus sensor on the back which might look like a third camera but it is not.
As always, Google says that its Pixel 4 series will be the best in photography but they did not talk much about videography. And we feel that videography on Pixel 4 will still get beaten by the iPhone 11 Pro’s video prowess. Coming to the price, Pixel 4 starts at $799 in the US whereas the Pixel 4 XL starts at $899.
[Spoiler Alert: Google has announced that the Pixel 4 series is not coming to India. The reason we assume is that Google did not get the government’s permission for the Soli Radars that they are using on the device.]
