Telegram now allows its users to import chat history from WhatsApp. As Telegram users surging in recent times, thanks to the WhatsApp.
Yes, since WhatsApp indicated its privacy policy change, which allows Facebook to use the data, many users are shifting to other messaging platforms.
Telegram benefitted largely, as they have crossed 525 million users. The newly shifted WhatsApp users don’t want to miss their chat history. So, Telegram now added a new feature to import all WhatsApp chat in its iOS app. Soon, we can expect this feature in its Android version.
How to import WhatsApp Chat to Telegram?
In the iOS version of WhatsApp, open any conversation whether group or contact from chat tab. Then open the info screen. From the iOS share sheet, select “Export Chat” option and then select Telegram.
It will import the chosen conversation to Telegram. You can also import chat history without images. It would reduce the data storage.
It is expected that once the chat history import feature introduced in Android version of Telegram, huge number of users may quit WhatsApp.
Various surveys also suggests that if WhatsApp shares user’s data with Facebook and third parties, users would uninstall.
Signal
Other than Telegram, Signal is the other messaging platform that welcoming unhappy WhatsApp users. Right now, Signal installed by more than 50 million. When compared to 1 billion plus users of WhatsApp, 50 million is nowhere near.
But, in the coming months, anything could happen. WhatsApp now postponed its privacy policy change until May 2021. Facebook wanted to launch WhatsApp pay feature as soon as possible. But, with the users unhappy with their decision to share user’s data, WhatsApp may lose its user base vastly.
Coming back to the Telegram update, it also includes a new feature where users can adjusts volumes for every individual contacts. And also now users can report fake groups or channels.
