Huawei launches MatePad Pro, its own version of Apple’s iPad Pro, in China

Huawei MatePad Pro

We know that Huawei is going through one of the worst phases in its history of selling smartphones and products. Because of the fact that it has been put under entity list by the US government which means they cannot sell in the country as well as work with other US companies. Not only that, the US-China trade war means that Huawei is impacted by other factors too. But we should also mention that the company is doing great, and as good as earlier, in its home country of China. There are reports that China has rallied around Huawei in a way so as to show support against the US.

Also, Huawei has not stopped launching new products in the market but we do know that they are launched for the Chinese markets only. We saw the company launch its Huawei Mate 30 Pro in international markets but that might be the last international smartphone from the company this year. On the other hand, we know that Huawei draws a lot of flak for taking inspiration from Apple to the point that it is seen as an Apple clone.

But the company sees that its Chinese customers like products that are designed like Apple products and they keep on making them. The latest product from Huawei which looks very similar to Apple’s offering is the MatePad Pro which is a tablet. Now, you would have already guessed which device from Apple we are talking about but if you have not, it is the iPad Pro.

Huawei’s MatePad Pro has a punch-hole selfie camera on the front with bezel-less display and also has a Pen/stylus similar to the Apple Pencil. The only difference between Huawei MatePad Pro and iPad Pro is its price. While the Apple iPad Pro starts at $999, Huawei’s MatePad Pro starts at just $470 but note that it does not have Google apps and services since they are banned from getting certified outside of China and Google is banned in China.
