MacOS 10.15 reportedly getting many features from iOS such as Siri Shortcuts, Screen Time

macOS 10.15

If you are not aware of Apple’s plans this year, the company will announce the latest versions of macOS as well as iOS this year. As far as iOS’ latest version is concerned, it will be iOS 13. In terms of macOS’ latest update, we expect it to be released as macOS 10.15. Now, there are some big changes in store for macOS users if reports are to be believed. However, the major announcement with macOS 10.15 will be that of Project Marzipan apps support.

Project Marzipan is the codename for Apple’s project which lets you run iOS apps on macOS. Finally, with macOS 10.15, we might get working iOS apps on macOS. Also, Apple is planning to bring exciting features of iOS 12 to the latest version of macOS.

One of these applications is Siri Shortcuts which was announced with iOS 12 last year. With Siri Shortcuts, you can just speak out a customized command to Siri. After that, Siri will perform the necessary action such as opening an app or performing some functions inside that app.

Apart from Siri Shortcuts, reports suggest that Screen Time is also coming to macOS. Screen Time was also announced with iOS 12. Screen Time is basically the same as Google’s Digital Wellbeing. With this feature, you can monitor on which app you are spending more time. If that bothers you, you can set a time limit for usage of that app. You can do this for a particular set of apps as well such as Social Media for example.

It is also being reported that Apple will bring a new Apple ID management to macOS’s preferences panel. Along with that, we will also see iMessage effects such as confetti, laser, fireworks and more even on macOS. The announcement of macOS 10.15 and iOS 13 will be done at WWDC 2019 which commences from June 3 by Apple.
