Meizu, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is all set to launch their latest flagship smartphone. Now, it is known that the next Meizu flagship will be named as the Meizu 16, the successor to Meizu 15 which was launched just recently. Talking about Meizu 15, there was an official statement from the company’s founder. Meizu’s founder Jack Wong said that Meizu 15 series is just a test product. He added that the real innovation will be seen in the Meizu-16 series which will be more futuristic and powerful.
Talking about the Meizu 16 series, the details about the smartphone were few and far in between. However, we had known from some leaks that Meizu 16 will be launched in August this year. Later, it was confirmed by Jack Wong that the Meizu 16 will indeed be launched in August.
Now, there are more leaks about the Meizu 16 which have surfaced on the web. According to this report, the Meizu 16 will be launched in two variants, Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Pro. One of the Meizu 16 series variants will be powered by Snapdragon 845 processor, most probably the Meizu 16 Pro. On the other hand, the Meizu 16 will be powered by Snapdragon 710 processor.
Apart from that, the Meizu 16 Pro will have an In-Display fingerprint sensor same as Vivo Nex. Also, this variant will have up to 8GB of RAM. Along with that, the smartphone will have Full HD resolution as well. On top of that, the displays on the Meizu 16 series will be OLED panels with 3D Press technology and mEngine. One more leak points to the fact that the smartphones will have 12MP + 20MP dual camera setup on the back.
However, there is one leak which suggests that the Meizu 16 Pro may even come with a 12MP + 12MP + 20MP triple camera on the back. The Meizu 16 is expected to have a 3080 mAh battery whereas the Meizu 16 Pro will have a 3600 mAh battery. The Meizu 16 Pro’s top variant is also expected to pack 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. This variant is expected to be priced at 4288 Yuan which is approximately $667.
