While we know that ads are part of the business for Google, it is also seen that the ads can’t get too annoying since the company is willing to remove them from their stores too. Now, there are websites and apps all over the world which might be providing an app or a product for free but they will be showing ads to their users.
While this is not wrong and the ads help them earn revenue, it gets bad when the ads are annoying. From annoying, we mean that the ads should not interfere in what the app intends to do. Also, we should not see traces of those ads in other parts of the UI.
However, we see that Android is infamous for such type of apps which sadly get used by millions and they show ads all over the place. Now, Google has cracked down on a portion of those apps which were found to be showing annoying ads to their users. As per a report, “nearly 600” apps were removed by Google from the Play Store which had such kind of ads. Google specifically mentions what kind of ads are deemed to be annoying in its books.
The company reveals that the ads found inside this banned apps were such that “would show up when you’re not actually using the device, or if you get a surprise full-screen ad when trying to make a phone call, unlocking your phone, or otherwise”.
It is commonly said that the Google Play Store is less secure when compared to the Apple App Store. And ads are one of the major reasons since they are a concern to user’s privacy as well. To change this, Google has developed a new technique to find developers who add deceptive ads inside their apps.
