Foldable smartphones are the latest trend in the industry. Recently Samsung and Huawei showcased their foldable smartphone in the news. Samsung Galaxy Fold is the first foldable display smartphone from the Samsung company. Huawei also in the news for its Mate X, which is a first foldable smartphone from the company.
Now coming to the news, Oppo teases its first foldable prototype smartphone. The device looks similar to the design of Huawei Mate X and Samsung Galaxy Fold. Oppo has patented the foldable device, it has a unique pop-up camera option which is not in other foldable smartphones, but the feature seems missing in the showcased prototype model. On the back, the device has a dual-cameras placed beside the dual LED flash.
Oppo’s first foldable device images are released by the company vice president Mr. Brian Shen on Weibo. Oppo’s foldable phone features two displays that unfolds to a tablet while when folded, it looks like a normal phone with large display size. On the front flexible display panel, the foldable phone prototype appears to have a thick bar on one side that includes a camera.
Apart from the looks, Shen hasn’t revealed any details about the device. Mr. Shen also said that the company hasn’t improved any user experience for the foldable device. On the OS side, the device has a new ColorOS version backed by Android. Also, Mr. Shen asked Weibo users whether they want mass production of the new foldable phone.
However, it is quite an early stage to guess the price of the Oppo flexible smartphone, but if we roughly estimate the price it is approximately 2,09,400 INR whereas Huawei Mate X roughly costs nearly about 1,41,000 INR.
