We have known that PUBG’s craze in India is not going anywhere. In fact, the popularity of Tencent Games’ PUBG is going up day by day. We also know that the game’s addiction has harmed and even taken the lives of many people in the country. At one point, the game was banned in several states of India. However, PUBG fever has not stopped and will not anytime soon.
One of the only issues that were harming PUBG’s growth in India was the performance. If you have a mid-range or flagship smartphone, PUBG would play smoothly on your phone. However, the game was a mess to play on budget and entry-level devices until now. But we will not have that issue as well because Tencent Games has solved that issue. The solution from Tencent Games is by launching a new game called PUBG Lite.
Now, PUBG Lite is nothing but just a smaller version of PUBG. PUBG Lite will be optimized for entry-level hardware while PUBG will be available for mid-range and flagships. This means that the growth of this game will increase even more. Because it can now penetrate to people having entry-level devices as well thanks to PUBG Lite.
Also interesting to note is the fact that India is not the first country to get PUBG Lite. This game is already released in countries such as Bangladesh, Taiwan, Hong Kong and others. Looks like the experiment with PUBG Lite for Tencent Games has turned out to be successful and the developers are ready to release it in India. Now, there is no news regarding its launch apart from the ‘Coming Soon’ tag. But we expect the game to be released in India at PUBG’s June 13 event in Kolkata, West Bengal. We expect PUBG Lite to be a much smaller game than PUBG in terms of download size.
