Realme might be working on its first premium flagship smartphone named Realme X

Realme X

Realme is a smartphone brand which is the sub-brand of Oppo. Recently, Realme launched its latest mid-range smartphone in India named the Realme 3 Pro. This smartphone is the successor to the Realme 2 Pro which was announced last year. Apart from that, Realme has also launched budget smartphones in its Realme C series. However, we have never seen a premium smartphone yet from Realme.

If reports are to be believed, we might see Realme launch its first flagship very soon. This smartphone will reportedly be named as the Realme X. As far as the smartphone is concerned, it will come with a full-screen display. Also, the smartphone will have a pop-up selfie camera. Another premium aspect of the smartphone is its fingerprint scanner. This time around, Realme will use an in-display fingerprint scanner for the Realme X.

This information is available to us from a Weibo post by the Realme CMO himself. It is very much possible that the CMO did this on purpose. However, we can know that he shared this Weibo post from Realme X. This means that the smartphone is ready and might be launched very soon.

Also, Realme has teased this smartphone in its advertisement as well. In this ad from Realme, we can see a smartphone which has pop-up selfie camera and full-screen display. As we mentioned earlier, Realme does not have any smartphone at the moment with such features. Thus, it is evident that the company is teasing its upcoming Realme X.

Now, it will be interesting to see how Realme goes ahead with the Realme X’s launch. Because we have seen Xiaomi launch some of its premium smartphones from Mi series in India but they have failed to capitulate in the same way as the Redmi series. Similarly, it will be tough for Realme to have runaway success with its Realme X unless it is priced aggressively.
