Sony is known to be struggling in the smartphone industry. We have already heard various rumours at this point about Sony leaving the smartphone industry as well. However, the company still seems to have faith in its smartphones. However, the sales are not showing any positive signs as well. Nonetheless, we are now getting rumours about Sony launching a flagship smartphone named Xperia 2. This launch is expected to take place in September of this year.
Let alone the specifications and price of Sony’s next flagship, September is the worst time for Sony to launch a phone. This is because Apple’s latest iPhones will be released in September and all other phones get overshadowed by it. Anyways, we will talk more about the upcoming Xperia 2 by Sony. We saw that Sony recently launched Xperia 1 with a tall 21:9 aspect ratio. Apart from that, it had a 6.5-inch display.
According to reports, Xperia 2 will not be a successor to the Xperia 1. Rather, it will slot up between the Xperia 1 and Xperia 4 from Sony. Also, Xperia 2 will reportedly have a 6.2-inch CinemaWide display. Along with that, it will have the same 21:9 aspect ratio as the Xperia 1. The device is said to have a resolution of 2880 x 1234 pixels.
Sony’s Xperia 2 will have flagship processor in the form of Snapdragon’s 855 chipset. This smartphone will come with 6GB of RAM. However, the disappointing report is that Xperia 2 will have a 3000 mAh battery, only. This is extremely low for a device with powerful specs in 2019. On the other hand, Xperia 2 might support wireless charging. Also, the device is not expected to have a 3.5-mm headphone jack.
Also, Xperia 2 will most likely have three cameras at the back. However, no further details are available regarding its camera. We expect the camera setup to include an ultra wide and a depth sensor. Also, it is reported that the Xperia 2 will be available for $799.
