Windows 10 update fixes VPN and proxy connectivity bug

Windows 10 update

Windows 10 update

One of the most used Windows versions, Windows 10, is also the last Windows version that Microsoft is ever going to release since they say that it will update on top of Windows 10 and no new version will be released. However, it also means that the Windows 10 version is the most used as well as the version with the most amount of bugs which do get fixed later. A new bug had been discovered in Windows 10 from users who were having a proxy connection or using a VPN. Now, it is seen that many of the users are using a proxy or VPN connection since they are working from home and their work might demand the same.

However, this bug caused a lot of connectivity issues for the people and it also meant that work was getting hindered for a lot of people. Now, we see that Microsoft has released an optional Windows 10 update which fixes the issues related to VPN and proxy connections. However, it is optional meaning that only those who had those problems should install the update and others are good as they are right now.

According to the official statement from Microsoft, this optional update from them “Addresses an issue that might display a limited or no internet connection status in the notification area on devices that use a manual or auto-configured proxy, especially with a virtual private network (VPN). Additionally, this issue might prevent some devices from connecting to the internet using applications that use WinHTTP or WinINet”.

The problem was that when you would connect your Windows device to a VPN or proxy connection, the PC would show a limited connection or no internet connection even though the connection was fine and could be used on other devices. Also, some apps were prevented from connecting to the internet and that has also been fixed.
