We have known that Xiaomi is going to launch a new smartphone in China very soon. Also, the company has been sending out media invites as well as teasers for the launch event. Regarding the launch, we have known that the company is launching the Redmi 6 Pro in China today. However, the company has not waited even for the launch event to start. Xiaomi has officially listed all the specifications and the pricing information of Redmi 6 Pro at least for China. However, we have known that Xiaomi will also launch the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 in the same event today which has not been listed.
As far as the Redmi 6 Pro is concerned, most of the earlier leaks have turned out to be true. This also means that we already know most of the details about the latest device. On the design front, the smartphone has a notch and a bezel-less display, however, with a bottom chin. On the back, Xiaomi has used the same design as used on the Redmi Note 5 Pro as well as the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Y2. The design is also same as the Apple iPhone X where it all started for Xiaomi. The display on the Redmi 6 Pro is a 5.84-inch Full HD+ panel at an aspect ratio of 19:9.
The device has vertical dual cameras on the back, a single camera with portrait mode for selfies, and is powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset. Apart from that, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9. However, we expected to see MIUI 10 on the device. On the aspect of pricing, the company has once again priced the Redmi 6 Pro very competitively. The device will have three variants with 3/32GB, 4/32GB, and 4/64GB variants respectively. The device will also be available in Black, Red and Rose Gold variants and the price starts at Yuan 999 for the base variant and goes all the way up to Yuan 1299 for the top variant which is approximately Rs. 10,500 up to Rs. 13,500 respectively.
