Fresh from the launch of its Mi series of smartphones last month, Xiaomi is seemingly set on drowning us in a sea of cheap but surprisingly well-put together devices. Better get your wallet and umbrella ready to properly welcome the midrange and budget Xiaomi Redmi 4, Redmi 4 Prime and the Redmi 4A. Let’s wade through their specs and features one at a time folks.
The Redmi 4 has a 5-inch 1280 x 720 curved glass screen. Punch power comes courtesy of a 1.4 GHZ octa-core Cortex A-53 processor and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 64-bit chipset together with an Adreno 505 GPU. RAM is a reasonable 2 GB, while internal storage stands at 16 GB, easily expandable via SD card to 128 GB. OS is the mighty Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the MIUI 8 overlaid like a second skin. Battery juice is a thankfully big 4,100 mAh capable of some hours of hefty use. Cameras are a 13MP back shooter with LED flash and a 5MP selfie-making delight. The phone additionally comes loaded with a fingerprint sensor on the curvy back. Dual sim connectivity, 4G with VoLTE, Wifi, GPS 4.1, and a micro-USB port completes the rest of the ensemble.
It’s far more eloquent brother, the Redmi 4 Prime comes offering a similar 5-inch screen but with full HD -1920 x 1080-, and a 2.5D curved glass display. It equally packs a hefty 2 GHZ octa-core Cortex A-53 processor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, along with an Adreno 506 GPU for serious muscle power. 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory allows it to live large like a boss, with 128 GB SD card expansion possible. Cameras are the same as the others, but with the addition of dual-tone, dual-LED flash. Other specs are the same as its brother above.
The Redmi 4 A on the other hand equally features a 5-inch HD 1280 x 720 resolution screen. Power comes via a quad-core 1.4 GHZ Cortex A-53 processor, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset mated to an Adreno 308 GPU. 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage expandable to 128 GB on demand enables heavy storage. The battery juice is just 3,120 mAh. Cameras are like its brethren above: a 12 MP front shooter with a single LED flash and a 5 MP selfie-maker. It equally shares other unlisted specs and the OS of its elders above, all that is except the fingerprint sensor.
Colors are Gold, Silver and Dark Grey, while the Redmi 4A comes only in Gold and Rose Gold flavors. The Redmi 4 and the Redmi 4 Prime are both slated to go on sale starting November 7, however, you can pre-order either right now. The Redmi 4A on the other hand, will go on sale starting November 11.
Prices are R.s 4,933 for the Redmi 4A, the Redmi 4 Prime is Rs. 8,887, while the Redmi 4 is Rs. 6,910.
