You must have heard about the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 series which is its first lineup of Smart TVs for the global markets including India. Prior to this, Xiaomi did make Smart TVs and sold them in China but never took them out of the Chinese markets. Looking at the demands, Xiaomi thought of bringing them to India and other markets and the rest is history. The Smart TVs from Xiaomi has been so successful that many other OEMs have followed up with their own branded TVs.
However, we do know that Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4 lineup had some issues such as panel defects and others. But still, the Mi TV 4 sold handsomely due to the price and performance package it offered. Now, we are getting to know that the company is launching a new Mi TV lineup which will be the Mi TV 5 series. For this series, Xiaomi is focusing on the size and making its TVs even thinner than the Mi TV 4 series. Apart from that, Xiaomi is bringing the QLED technology which was seen on OnePlus, Samsung and LG TVs only.
Now, the first images of the Mi TV 5 series have also been leaked and they do look like a monitor rather than a TV. For this series of TVs, Xiaomi has also added its branding which goes by “Designed by Xiaomi” on the slim sides. The company, as always, has also teased the Mi TV 5 series extensively on Weibo. From those teasers, we have known that the Mi TV 5 will support HDR 10+, it will have 4GB RAM and 64GB storage as well as just 1.8mm thick bezels. As for the announcement of Xiaomi’s Mi TV 5 series, it will be done alongside the Mi CC9 Pro on November 5 in China. Xiaomi is also expected to launch its first-ever smartwatch at this event running on Wear OS based on MIUI for Watch.
