Fotor Photo Editor App Review

After the launch of smartphones, photography becomes everyone’s hobby. Parallelly Android and iOS platforms have tons of image editing, styling and sharing apps. If you take plenty of photos with your smartphone you need a powerful photo editor to your images. Fotor is one of the most robust App based photo editing tool out there that lets you edit your photos easily on the go.

Fotor is a standalone photo editing app which offers basic photo editing tools along with RAW format file conversion and ‘Fotor HDR’ and intuitive image enhancement technology. Fotor is developed by Tony Duan in the year 2012. First, it is released as a software for Windows and MAC. Fotor User Interface

In this review, I’m using Android platform. To get started, download and install the app from Google Play Store. Upon launch, the app opens in a clean user interface. On the top of the UI, it has four options to choose from.

• Editor
• Events
• Inspire
• Suggestion

1. Editor

Editor option provides everything you’ll need to edit your photos with a few simple clicks. You can choose images from your phone gallery, Facebook, Instagram feed and directly from the phone Camera.

Clicking on camera open the camera, the app uses its own camera app to capture pictures. If you already had a pic you want to edit in your device clicking on edit shoes the list of pictures available on your device. You can also import the picture from Facebook and Instagram accounts, to access accounts you need to authorize the app.

College option works independently, clicking on College opens a list of templates you can choose from. The classic template shows a list of default college templates we see regularly. Whereas Magazine mode is unique and very stylish. The Magazine section lets you overlay a frame on your photos from the several available words and quotations.

Edit option has a bunch of tools to spice up your photos by adding various post-processing filters and effects to them. After selecting an image at the bottom, you’ll see Enhance, Scenes, Effects, Basic, Advance, Rotate, Crop, Frames, Stickers, Text, Focus, and Pixelate.

Coming to editing tools the app gives tough competition to Instagram filters. The standard effects include black & white and other extra like mist, Distant, Tranquil and Gloaming others.

2. Events

Apart from photo editing tools and enhancement options, the app has Events category. This feature is unique in the Fotor, it lets you upload your photographs and allows it to have a world wide visualization at an extreme level. The uploaded photo will have a view from both professional and amateur photographers, as well as interacting with Fotor directly through participation in the official competitions and activities.

3. Inspire

Inspire section contains the list of images which have won competitions conducted b y Fotor. It is categorized in various genres to really inspire from. This category is really a visual treat, you can really inspire and enjoy beautiful photographs captured by really talented people.

4. Suggestions

Suggestions section contains a list of app supported by Fotor. We found this category is unnecessary to explain.

Verdict

To sum it up, Fotor is a powerful and user-friendly photo editor that offers everything needed by a photographer. It has excellent features like RAW image conversion, photography showcase, and competitions. The Fotor is available for both the Android and iOS platforms can be downloaded for free.
