ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe ZE551ML Review

At the Asus Zen Festival, the company had announced three new ZenFone devices Deluxe, Selfie, and Laser editions. Asus is a popular company for manufacturing Motherboards, Laptops and Smartphones. The company known for making quality laptops has launched three smartphones in its ZenFone Range of handsets. Today I’m reviewing Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe.

The ZenFone Deluxe 2 features a 13MP camera with dual LED flash and a front-facing 5MP camera for video calls. The phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and offers lots of features. The phone has something unique to offer geared towards heavy users.

Build Quality & Features

Hardware wises the Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe truly brings real hardware; great cameras, excellent display, storage and a large battery.The Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe comes with 4GB of RAM, a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 SoC, 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, and a 3000mAh battery.

Design wise the company has manufactured a unique design. The rear panel has a crystal polygon shapes design, which adds to the premium look and feel of the device. The build is superior when compared to the other devices at this price point.  Overall there is a lot of wow factor coming to rear panel build quality.

ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe ZE551ML Details

The Zenfone 2 Deluxe features a 5.5 inch HD display (1920x1080pixel) IPS LCD with Corning Gorilla 4 Glass. The display is an FHD panel it is actually quite good. The front panel has the 5MP camera, the usual set of sensors (Ambient, Accelerometer, and Proximity) and the three capacitive buttons. The colors look pretty good and the viewing angles and the colors, so you won’t find us complaining.

Performance

As we know, it runs on 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 SoC, considering the hardware the overall performance of the device was good and we didn’t experience any lags or issues which running apps or switching between apps. Connectivity is standard too, so there were no issues here. Onboard is 32GB of storage, which is not enough for a heavy gamer and multimedia lover. For a normal usage user, the built-in storage is sufficient, you can expandable up to 128GB.

ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Build Quality

Up front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies, around the back is a 13-megapixel snapper for shutterbugs. The interface of the camera is pretty good; the camera focuses quickly so you can go up close to your subjects and get a good clarity. Gaming seems very good; we didn’t face any jitters while playing games like Real Racing 3 and PvZ 2.

On the connectivity side, it has basic Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0, but no fancy features such as NFC. The network performance is good, and the audio quality is excellent. The battery performance is also good; it gives a full day performance with no issues.

Verdict

The Zenfone 2 Deluxe with 4GB RAM and FHD display is priced $269.99. Smartphones were easy to buy and available everywhere in 2015, and the Oukitel U7 is a decent performer at this price point.
