Coming to the article topic, today we discuss converting Blu-ray to MKV format. Recently I found a good hefty Windows software for converting Blu-ray videos to MKV video format. Sounds interesting? Let’s get into the article.

Leawo Blu-ray to MKV Introduction

Leawo Blu-ray to MKV converter is a tool specially designed for Blu-ray to MKV conversion in Windows Operating system. The program is very lightweight to install and works like a charm. The features like 1:1 lossless conversion and 6 times faster conversion speed makes it unique from the competitors. The subtitles and tracks will remain exactly same as that of the origin file. It can also convert DVD to MKV format regardless of disc protection and region restriction.

User Interface

The user interface of the Leawo Blu-Ray to MKV converter is very elegant. Users just have to drag and drop the Blu-Ray files to the software and start the process. No additional configurations are needed because the software will adjust them itself. If you need further control over the conversion process, you could always configure it from the settings of the software. There are three different modes available for the conversion namely, Full movie, Main Movie, and Custom mode. The custom mode will give you more control over the conversion while the Full movie mode will entirely convert the source file.

After selecting the preferred mode, you could choose the destination of the converted file and the process will start. From our testing, it never made us stick on the chair for long. It is pretty fast.

Features

Leawo Blu-ray to MKV converter has very minimal features but all helpful to the extent. The software is primarily made for the conversion between Blu-ray or DVD discs and MKV format. So, it contains almost of the functions needed for that.

The most noticeable feature is the 1:1 conversion which never touches the quality or the contents of the origin. Users will be able to extract the same copy of the disc but in a different format. Even the subtitles will not get altered by the conversion process. The advanced disc decryption technology allows to unlock any locked discs and continue the conversion process. It can also Rip Blu-ray discs to MKV regardless of the country restrictions.

From our tests, the Audio tracks had the exact same quality as of the origin and not altered at all. The conversion process was much easier and faster when compared to the previously reviewed converters. But for the larger files, it took some time, but not as much as boring us. So, the overall features of the software is pleasing. We never got a bug on the process and all went well throughout the testing procedure.

Pros

• User-friendly interface
• Good conversion speed
• Lossless conversion
• Even subtitles are not altered

Cons

• Not completely free
