How to Hack WiFi Password Using Kali Linux 2.0

Nowadays, many people are making use of Wi-Fi to establish connectivity with the web. If you navigate to the Settings page, you will be able to view a list of all Wi-Fi connection names along with your network identity. In the same way, other residents in your locality will also view your name. If you want to conceal your identity on the Wi-Fi, you need to provide a name which cannot be recognized by other people.

You can easily crack the WiFi password using Kali Linux. Using the Linux platform you can learn many hacking related tricks. If you are an experienced user, you can easily hack Wi-Fi password with the help of reaver method included with Kali Linux 2.0. In this article, we will examine the steps. However, hacking and cracking of Wi-Fi password is illegal. We have provided the post only for educational purposes.

Locating the name of Adapter

You need to navigate to the terminal and locate the name of your wireless adapter. You need to type ifconfig on the terminal. You will view a series of commands on the prompt. You should provide the commands airmon-ng check kill, and now airmon-ng check on the terminal.

Activating Monitor mode and packet capturing

The next step is to enable the Monitor mode. For this purpose, you need to make use of a tool named airmon-ng to create a virtual interface called Mon. You need to provide the command.

airmon-ng start wlan0

The next step to hack the password is to start the process of capturing packets. You should use airodump-ng to capture all the packets in the air. After that, you will view the name of the Wi-Fi that you would like to hack.

You need to provide the command airodump-ng wlan0mon and press Ctrl+c key. The final step is to copy the BSSID of the Wi-Fi network and write it on the reaver -i wlan0mon -b (BSSID) -vv -K 1 command.

As you can see, you should attempt to puncture into the Wi-Fi password only if you have experience. Moreover, you should try the above steps only for educational purpose.
