Google “Speed Test” to test your internet speed from Google Search without any third party apps

Google Speed Test to test your internet speed from Google Search without any third party apps

Google Search is not your regular search bar. It contains a lot of functionalities. For example, you can directly convert units, use calculators, or see the time. Furthermore, to make it more fun, Google has introduced some easter eggs.

You’ve probably heard of the Google Easter eggs before. Google Easter Egg is a feature of the search engine Google that shows some funny stuff. It can be fun things in pictures, such as unique type font or strange replies to queries. These are funny extra things that Google has added to its search engine over the years. They are not an official feature, but they add a little fun and variety to searches. For instance, you can make a page roll by typing “Do a barrel roll” or even play PAC-MAN Doodle by typing “Pacman.”

Now just like other things that google can do, among that is testing your internet speed. Remember the meme where it said, “Open Google to know if you are connected to the internet,” well, Google seems to have devised a fully-functional internet speed test application for this trick.

Google Speed Test feature

To know the speed of your internet, go to google.com or type “Speed test” if Google is set to be your default search provider. In search results, there will appear a card with a button saying “Run Speed Test.”

Hit the button “Run Speed Test,” and Google will start testing your internet speed. While it does that, you can see the results in real-time with an internet speedometer displayed during the test.

To obtain ideal results, eliminate all the background downloads or uploads if any. For folks on Wi-Fi, make sure no other device is connected to ensure that the results you get are accurate. A total of 40MB of data will be used while performing the test.

After the test is done, it will show you uploads and download speeds along with the server are connected to perform the speed test. You can even see the latency, which is helpful during online gaming. You can always choose to rerun the tests by clicking on ‘Test Again.’

Summing Up:

Google has its way to make sure its users always get a superior experience. Be it with search results or providing small utilities like Speed test. Next time when your Netflix keeps buffering, you know what to do.
