Usually, we get statistical or number-based data in a JPEG or PNG format. It is a tough task to see and type the data into an Excel sheet manually. Because an image format does not allow us to copy and paste the data. Or are there any other OCR tools that would duplicate the data in the incorrect format, making your task more difficult? You have likely wished that Excel had a built-in capability that could identify data contained in a photo or a screenshot.
Excel includes a tool called “Data from Picture,” which allows you to import the information that you have taken from a screenshot or photo into your spreadsheet.
Through the use of this function, you will be able to upload a previously stored picture file and include it in your worksheet as data. This may come in handy for a variety of reasons; for instance, if you only have paper copies and you want to enter data into Excel, such as tax returns, this may be useful.

- Once everything looks good, select Insert Data.
- The spreadsheet will have all of the information from your picture arranged.
Notes:
- There are some limitations during this process. Such an image file should be visible unless it faces hiccups converting the data into Excel format.
- The data must also be organized in a standard format. The photo may experience difficulties during the conversion process if it contains additional information or graphical data.
Importing data with the Picture Tool can help reduce the amount of manual work required. If you use Excel, you really must be aware of this option.
