Google Messages Starts To Activate Your Anti Spam Protection

Android Messages

Throughout this year 2018, the Android native messaging application has gone through an important evolution that will continue during the coming months, with the aim of becoming the standard messaging service on Android. In the same way, that iMessage in iOS. That is why, every so often, we have been discovering new features that are coming to the app … and today is one of those days.

As we found from AndroidPolice, several users have begun to receive a new system of protection against spam messages in the application, which is expected to be available to all users of the platform.

Anti-Spam System Of Android Messaging App

Android Messages

As often happens with this type of news, Google seems to be carrying tests that affect only a small number of users. To know if the anti-spam protection has arrived at your device, you should only open the application and check if a notification like an image appears on these lines, which encourages you to try this protection measure.

In the case of activating the tool from the settings of the application, Messages will analyze the sender of the message in question, and in case it matches one of those stored in their databases of telephone numbers associated with spam accounts. The message will also be blocked. The content of the messages will also be analyzed, in search of similarities with other messages that have previously been marked as spam.

The operation is very similar to the anti-spam measures that already exist in Android, including the Google phone application itself. Undoubtedly, it is a most useful tool, and especially necessary if the intention of Google is to make this application the messaging standard in its mobile platform.
