OnePlus launched their latest smartphone to the world a few months ago. The smartphone is named as the OnePlus 6, the successor to OnePlus 5T launched six months ago. Now, it is known that the smartphone has already got a tremendous response around the world.
As for the sales, the smartphone has become the highest selling smartphone in India. OnePlus smartphones are sold in India via Amazon India exclusively. The company recently announced that the OnePlus 6 has recorded a 100 Crore revenue in just 10 minutes of sales on Amazon in India.
Now, the company has also been providing good updates as well as support for all their smartphones. We know that all the flagship smartphones released by the company in last two years have received the Android 8.1 Oreo update. These smartphones include the OnePlus 3, 3T, 5 and the 5T.
Also, the OnePlus 6 was launched along with Android 8.1 Oreo itself. Talking about the software, OnePlus smartphones come with OxygenOS on top of it. This is a custom skin of Android developed by OnePlus in-house. Now, OnePlus released the latest update to OxygenOS very recently which was versioned as OxygenOS 5.1.8. This update was released as an OTA update to the OnePlus 6 smartphones around the world.
This update is not known to bring any major changes to the smartphone. However, OnePlus says that there are minor fixes and bugs have been squashed. But, there is now a new problem that the OnePlus 6 users have to handle which is the problem of excessive battery drain.
Yes, many of the OnePlus 6 users have reported that they are facing severe battery drain on their smartphone once they have updated their devices to the OxygenOS 5.1.8 update. One more thing to add here is some of the users have reported higher than normal battery drain while some are even facing just half the battery life compared to the earlier version. There are also reports of overheating after this update on the official OnePlus forums. Thus, it is expected that OnePlus may already be working on releasing the OxygenOS 5.1.9 OTA for the OnePlus 6 very soon.
