Xiaomi Mi 8 specifications are leaked online ahead of May 31st launch. From the latest leaks, we can expect the device weighs 172 gms and the body is just 7.8 mm thin. It is confirmed that the device is officially launching on May 31st, 2018. It is known that the company skipped the Mi 7 series and jumped directly from Mi 6 to Mi 8. Also, this year Xiaomi is planning to celebrate 8th Anniversary of the company and also the Mi 8 number matches with the year which looks like a good time for the company.
To celebrate our 8th year anniversary, we’ll be launching Mi 8 at our annual flagship product launch in Shenzhen on May 31,” Donovan Sung, Xiaomi’s Global spokesperson tweeted.

In the earlier leaks, we have seen Mi 8 will have 6.01 screen with a wide notch along with 3D sensors for face unlocking. Mi 8 will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC packed with 8GB LPDDR4X of RAM and a UFS 2.1 flash memory and wireless charging feature.

- 3D Face Recognition Technology: Xiaomi has been reportedly working on 3D face recognition technology to the Face ID feature like in the Apple iPhone X. It is expected to be added into MIUI 10 upon official roll-out.

- Chipset and RAM: Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM.
- Operating System: It is rumored that the device run on Android 8 Oreo with the MIUI 10 is expected.
