Cutting off the speculations and rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones announced at the MWC 2016. The specs are very similar to the rumored one’s that we published recently. As the rumors stated, both the devices are announced right at the MWC event. The design also looks pretty similar to the recently leaked images of the phones. Better cameras and Bigger batteries are the main attraction of the siblings. They also feature the waterproofing to sweeten the popularity.
After the S6 and S6 Edge that released last year, Samsung wanted to provide something better on the followers. They took the time and finally released the siblings. The design looks similar to the previous versions but has some slight improvements. Recently there were some rumors stating that the devices will have a 3D touch feature. But, unfortunately, there were no such features in the phones. But, the expandable storage is some more better than expected one. They feature a 200GB external memory in addition to the 32GB inbuilt ROM. A 64GB variant is also available in selected regions.
S7 Edge has a larger display scaling 5.5-inches while the S7 Edge has a 5.1 inch one. Both of them are HD Super AMOLED one’s. The camera of the devices downgraded from 16.0MP one to a 12.0MP one when compared to the S6 models. But the company stating that they comprised some more pixels in pictures to provide a better image quality and resolution. The cameras also come with a f/1.7 aperture that lets in an additional 25 percent more light to the pictures in gloomy conditions. The design of the camera has no difference from the traditional Samsung design but looks neat.
Under the hood, both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor powered by a 4GB RAM. S6 was having a 3GB RAM last year. So, a small improvement in the RAM section. A 3000mAh battery powering the S7 while a little better 3600mAh one in the Edge. The battery has improved a lot from the S6 models which had a 2550mAh and 2600mAh batteries respectively. So, the devices can live a little more longer even on tough usage. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS completely integrated on both phones to provide a better performance by consuming a low battery.
Waterproofing is the main eye catcher of both the phones. They feature the IP68 water and dust resistance that can resist the water in up to 5 feet for 30 minutes. Give a look at the official video of the devices. It says all.
As per the reports, they will be available from March 11. The company offers a free Gear VR headset for those who pre-book the devices in between February 23rd and March 18th. So, Be ready to give a try.
