Recently the Bluetooth special interest group has announced the name of upcoming Bluetooth version aka Bluetooth 5. It will be the successor to the Bluetooth 4.2 version which is released in 2014. The latest version is going to release in the next week as said by Mark Powell. Coming to the special attractions of the Bluetooth 5, there are so many improvements rumored. There are significant updates over the present version of the Bluetooth. It is rumored to perform with double speed and four times range.
Here are the points below we know so far about new Bluetooth 5.
Bluetooth 5 – Better Speed
It will be coming with double speeds as of now. It uses low-energy technology and transmits unto 2MBPS.
Extended Range
Another significant improvement is the range extension. The new technology works 1000+ feet distance approximately. The distance range will depend on the opposite device range also.
Advanced Location Aware Technology
Bluetooth 5 will equipped with navigational feature to ease the location based devices. It can easily connect with home based and outside beacons.
Compatible Devices
The technology will be announced soon, but we have to wait for the Bluetooth 5 chip equipped devices. W are expecting this technology will be adopted in 2017 flagship devices.

According to panel: On the technical side, Bluetooth 5 has a lot to offer. As previously announced, it will double the range and quadruple the speed of low energy Bluetooth transmissions.
