Comcast Speed Test Review

Comcast Speed Test

If you work with the Internet, you should know about the total speed offered by your provider. Moreover, if the connectivity goes down you should verify the speed to make sure things are running without any glitches.

The XFINITY Speed Test is a service provided by the Comcast to measure the speed of your connectivity. You should note that the test is completely free and can be performed directly via the web. After the completion of the test, you will be able to view the total amount of bandwidth you are consuming.

With Comcast Speed Test, you will be able to get a basic idea of your download and upload speeds. If you can download 1GB of file quickly, then you can assume greater download speeds. If your movie is streaming fast, you can assume that your Internet connection speed is good.

To work with the Comcast Speed Test Tool, you need to navigate to the Comcast Speed Test Tool, click on any location on the map.

If you enter Comcast Speed Test on to the Google search box, you will view speedtest.xfinity.com as the first result. You should note that both Comcast and Xfinity are same.

Select “Start Test” button. Initially, you will view the Download speed testing as shown below.

The final results are displayed after the completion of the Upload test speed as shown below.

You should wait until three parts of the test are successfully completed. You can also save the results by selecting the COPY URL button and pasting the URL into a document. You should consider opening a Google Excel Doc file to copy each test result.

Comcast Speed Test works by downloading and uploading a small amount of hidden data. The software then monitors how fast the data is processed and provides the results. A minor calculation involved with the size of the data packages coupled with the amount of time it took to manage provides the resulting speed in Mbps.

The Comcast Speed Test also measures the network latency. The service establishes connectivity with 26 Comcast OOKLA hosted servers. When it comes to the accuracy, it is difficult to judge whether the results are precise. However, if you have any doubt, you can always test the speed using other services.
