How To Fix Office 2010 Setup Error 2203 An Internal Error Occurred

Microsoft Word is a comprehensive word processing package. Even though Office 2010 is outdated, many people still work with them. To work with Office 2010, you need to install the package properly. However, the installation process would not be smooth as expected. Sometimes, you will view a message “Error 2203. An Internal Error Occurred” during the setup of Office 2010 package.

You will view the Error 2203 at the time of installation of OneNote 2010 using Office Professional Plus 2010 32-bit on a 64-bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate. However, you can resolve the error easily.

In addition to the above-mentioned message, you will also view the relevant Windows installation path. The message will also prompt you to establish contact with Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS). It will also prompt you to visit the relevant help file for further assistance.

How To Fix Office 2010 Setup Error 2203 An Internal Error Occurred?

typing services.msc into the Search box

To fix the problem, you need to navigate to Services by typing services.msc into the Search box in the Start menu.

Windows Installer Stop Service

You need not scroll down to Windows Installer and stop the service. You should then restart it and close the Services window.

After performing the above steps, visit the Temp folder by typing %temp% into the Search box in the Start Menu. You will view the Temp folder. You should right-click on an empty area in the folder and select Properties. You need to select the Security tab and select Edit button located under the Group or user names box.

You should click the Add button and you will view Permissions for Temp window. Type Everyone in the Objects Names box and select Check Names and click OK.

You need to provide full control under Permissions for Everyone checkbox and select OK. You should restart the Office application installation process. You will be able to install OneNote successfully without any errors.
