What is a Proxy?

What is a Proxy

We all have been using a proxy lately for some of the other tasks. Proxy servers are usually used to hide our original details and mimic that we are using another PC for our work. If you are working or researching at times there are websites which we cannot use directly and hence we need proxy servers.

These servers are nothing else but a computer that has a unique software installed over it which acts a middle point between the endpoint device and the main server of the website. A Proxy server is simply used to forward the request coming from a source to a different source, which must be its main destination.

One of the basic advantages of Proxy is the cache of the server. Like there are 1000s of users using a particular proxy server to visit Facebook, then most of the components of Facebook will be on their server this will reduce the load on Facebook’s own server and hence we will get the website served much faster.

What is forward or Reverse Proxies?

Forward proxies are used when a particular user needs to hide his details or need more and more privacy. This may be used when he wants to download some copyrighted material or child pornography.

Reverse proxies handle the requests that income to the resource of the destination server. These proxies enable us to have better-balanced servers, disable access to the website which is blocked by either ISP or government, etc. Hence mostly reverse proxies work in order to keep you far from blocked proxies.

Have your conception about Proxies cleared? If yes do let us know if you still have any confusion or any other queries about Proxy, we will surely try to solve all your issues out. Do let us know in the comment section below.
