How to Stop Random Apps Being Opened Automatically on Booting Windows

We have all been using Windows and have been frustrated several times a day by one annoying thing. This is the random opening of applications on Windows after the first boot. Basically, we get a whole load of apps opening on our home screen when we start or restart our Windows PC or Laptop.

Now, this can be useful for some of the applications which we use on a daily basis. However, most of the applications that open automatically are useless.

Also,  there is the fact that these applications take a lot of RAM and memory which reduces the PC’s performance. This is why we feel that Windows is lagging on booting up and then speeds up. Now, we are here to tell you how to stop those apps from opening automatically on your Windows. For this, you have to take granular controls of your Windows boot up into your own hands.

You need to open the Task Manager on Windows by typing Task Manager in your Start Menu and check which apps open at boot on your PC first of all. This will tell you which apps should open and which ones should not.

Go to the Startup tab inside Task Manager and check out the list of apps opening at boot. After that, remove the apps which should not open at startup by just selecting the app and clicking disable button found below

Now, there are various apps which will be there in this list. And you will be tempted to disable them all at once. However, you should not do so as there are system apps here too. Therefore, check the list properly and avoid disabling apps from Microsoft. Also, avoid disabling apps such as Google Drive or Dropbox as they are needed to run in the background for sync functionality.
