How to delete messages on Facebook Messenger

Facebook Messenger

Earlier, we could chat with our Facebook friends and also post and share Facebook posts, all in one app. This app was the Facebook app for Android and iOS. However, the company decided to later separate the Facebook app and the messages app.

This messages app from Facebook is named as Facebook Messenger. Now, we have gotten used to the Facebook Messenger as it has been around for many years. However, some people are finding it hard to remove their sent messages on Facebook Messenger. Thus, we are here to tell you how to delete your messages on Facebook Messenger.

Now, deleting messages on any platform could be because of various reasons. These reasons include the messages that were sent by mistake. We intend to send a message to one person and the other person receives that message.

Also, the message could also have a typo and we got to know about it after sending. On the other hand, we sent a message and later want to delete it for some reason. Thus, it is very useful if you are aware of the way to delete messages on Facebook Messenger.

For this, you will need to log in to your Facebook Messenger account by going to messenger.com. Also, you can access your Facebook messages by going to your Facebook account and clicking on chat bubbles beside the friend request tab. Now, you have to long-press on messages inside Facebook Messenger and click on Delete.

This will delete the message but take note that the message will only be deleted on your end. This message will still be seen on the receiver’s end. Also, you can similarly delete an entire conversation by long-pressing on the conversation and deleting it. Similarly, you can archive the messages as well instead of deleting them.
