To Enable Screen Share in Discord
For this to work, be sure that you’re using the Discord Desktop client and also an up-to-date version of the same. You need to be on a video/audio call with the person whom you want to do a screen share. So make sure that audio/video hardware is working correctly. Also, you can choose to keep the video or audio enable while sharing the screen.

- From user settings (Bottom left of the screen, on the right of your username), go to App Settings, and open the “Voice & Video” tab. From here, you can control all your voice and video settings.
- Under voice settings, select the appropriate input and output device. It usually is configured by default, to make sure that it is working, do a Mic Test by pressing the Let’s Check button.
- Scroll down to discover the video settings and select the desired video device, it can be your laptop’s internal video hardware, or you can even choose the external webcam.
- Hit the Test Video button to verify if your video hardware is working correctly.

- Look for the Discord Icon on the top-left and go to the homepage. Click on the friends to open up the friend list.
- Hover over the username of the person with whom you want to connect or click that particular username and an option to video or voice call will appear.

While you have started with screen sharing, you can also turn on-off sound parallelly. It helps you communicate in a better way and makes the meeting more efficient in general.
Here, you can choose to see the video of any particular person while connected in a group call. You select the person you wish to see, and others will just slide by in the marquee to the right. To change the video focus to a different person, just select someone else from the marquee.
Turn Sound on or off during screen share on Discord
You can also choose to turn your voice chat on or off as per your requirement while you are sharing the screen. To do this, toggle the SOUND to on or off while you’re in the application window. It’s quite useful to guide others around the screen, especially if you’re giving a product demo or anything of that sort.
Swap Screens to share in Discord
While sharing your screen, you can swap between video or screen from the bottom icons. You do this by tapping on the leftmost icon on the center (monitor with an arrow) and select the screens which you wish to share. There you can choose any specific application window or the complete screen. You can switch to the video by hitting the video button to the right. The swap can be made at any desired time while on a call.
Toggle Full Screen
You can also choose to have a full screen for screen sharing by clicking on the double arrow icon situated on the extreme right. The starting icon that is the expand arrow will make the screen grow to the resolution that you have set on the Discord App.
Leave Call Button
You can quickly disconnect the call after you’re done with a screen share by clicking on the Leave Call. Do not press it accidentally as it won’t give any warnings.
User settings can be accessed by selecting the settings icon from the bottom tray. It is similar to that of the discord homepage.
