PS5 is launched and there is a lot of buzz circulating in the gaming industry. Sony recently launched two new models of PS5 which are Digital and Disc model. Both are having similar design except the digital model will miss the disc slot at the front end.

Now there are lot of questions and doubts are raising in the social media and as well as in Google regarding the backwards compatibility of the PS5 console.
Unless you are having a Digital version, the new PS5 will support every PS4 game discs. Yes, you are read it right. The traditional version of PS5 is capable of running PS4 game discs with the support of backward compatibility.
Sony also states that you can transfer the digital games purcahsed for PS4 can be trnsferrable to PS5 with the help of a Wi-Fi or a LAN cable.
If you’re already on a PS4 and own a lot of physical games you purchased for the PS4, it would also make sense for you to go for the regular PS5 version which can play the discs.
PS5 Digital Edition is a variant of the PS5 model that comes with a difference in the aesthetics in the design, and the absence of the Blu-ray disc drive. Of course, there is a price difference of around $100. Apart from that, the PS5 digital edition is just like the normal PS5 variant.
Both varients are backward compatible where you can transfer existing PS4 digital games to both PS5 Digital and normal PS5 editions and where as PS4 discs to only PS5 normal version. Sonly also says that majority of 4000+ PS4 games are backward compatible with PS5.
So the choice is yours depending on the PS4 game titles you have in either disc or digital version.
