Discord is unquestionably the most popular communication app for gamers. Even though it is tailored for gamers, it is also being used by professionals and students across the world.
Now, with all the features, there’s also a need for moderation tools. Fortunately, Discord provides great control over the features offered.
Here, we’re going to talk out one of them — unblocking someone on Discord.
Discord Overview
If you still haven’t tried Discord or new to Discord, you should know a few things to make the most out of it.
Discord is completely free to use and the premium plans are basically meant to support Discord to remain free while getting some extra options.
To be honest, Discord is a quite impressive service that can act as an all-in-one audio/video/messaging application for free while providing a bunch of useful features. The ability to add bots to your server, moderate messages, voice channels, and the level of control that you get on your own free Discord server is simply amazing.
We might take a look at individual Discord tutorials in some of our next posts. But, for now, it’s important to see how to unblock or block someone on Discord.
Even if you have a lot of moderation options at your disposal, you will find someone disturbing you, sending spam messages to your inbox, or simply a scammer. So, it’s best to block them when needed and if it’s just a toxic online user, you may choose to unblock them later.
Before we take a look at how to unblock them, let’s also see how to block someone on Discord.
How to block someone on Discord?
To block someone on Discord, you need to first search for the user on the server or your DM(Direct Message) list.
Once you find them, right-click on their profile to find the block option as shown in the screenshot.
Just click on it and it’s done.
It’s important to note that if the user you blocked was in your friend list, they will be removed. So, you will have to send a friend request again or tell them to send you, if you ever consider unblocking them.
How to unblock someone on Discord?
Unblocking works the same way as blocking someone on Discord. Of course, it isn’t rocket science either.
You just have to search for the user you blocked from the list of users in the server or your DM list.
Once you do that, right-click on their profile and click on “Unblock” as shown in the screenshot.
However, for both the options to block and unblock, if you want to utilize the Discord app on your phone. You will have to click on the user’s profile and tap on the three-dot icon to get the option to block or unblock.
