We have known already that Android OS, which was developed more than a decade ago, has been running successfully on smartphones ever since then. It is also a fact that, a majority of the smartphones around the world are currently running on Android OS.
Apart from that, we also get the latest version of Android every year which keeps the OS updated with the latest features developed by Google. However, we saw the reports of a new operating system being developed by Google which is now known to be named as Fuchsia OS.
Talking about Fuchsia OS, we know that Google has come in legal trouble with the EU regarding Android OS from the past 3-4 years. Just a few days back, EU handed out a record penalty of 5 million Euros to Google for manipulating Android. EU said that Google is bundling Android on all the smartphones around the world which is wrong.
Also, Google should remove Search and Chrome from their smartphones as well and leave its installation to the user. Therefore, rumors started floating that Fuchsia OS is being developed by Google to replace Android on our smartphones. However, we now know that Fuchsia OS is not going to replace Android OS anytime soon.
This is because Fuchsia OS is still in very early development stages and although the OS has started running on smartphones, it is not as if it is half as good as Android OS currently. Also, add to it the fact that developers will have to develop their apps based on Fuchsia OS rather than Android OS which will take a lot of time as well.
Now, it is reported that whenever Fuchsia OS is developed, it is likely to be installed on Google hardware only which means this will be a proprietary software rather than Android which is an open-source one. This means that in order to use Fuchsia OS, you will need to buy a device which comes pre-installed with it.
