OnePlus 6T officially announced with Screen Unlock and Watedrop Notch starting at $549

Therefore, we were already prepared for what’s in the store regarding the device. And, OnePlus did give some interesting surprises here and there. But the overall smartphone is very similar to the OnePlus 6. And this is not such a bad thing too. Because OnePlus 6T is a mid-year refresh from the company and not necessarily the flagship of the year. Coming back to the device, the smartphone has the same Snapdragon 845 processor. Also, the cameras on the back and front of OnePlus 6T are same as OnePlus 6 too.

Coming to the changes from the OnePlus 6, first up is the Waterdrop notch on the display. On the OnePlus 6T, there is a tiny notch which has the front camera and nothing else is present. This means that it is a much smaller notch than the OnePlus 6 or the iPhone Xs and X series. Also, this means that the display is now taller which is now 6.4-inch, a full 0.2-inch taller than the OnePlus 6.

Moreover, the biggest change of the OnePlus 6T is its Screen Unlock. Screen Unlock, also known as In-display fingerprint scanner, is seen on smartphones from Vivo and Oppo already. Now, OnePlus 6T has the Screen Unlock as well so we expect other devices to follow this trend soon. Coming to the price, OnePlus 6T’s base model which has 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is priced at $549. In terms of Indian pricing, we will get to know about it in a few hours time as the Indian launch of OnePlus 6T is scheduled to begin at 8.30 PM IST on October 30.
