How to Take Screenshots On Windows 8 Surface Tablets

To capture screenshots on Windows desktops or laptops generally, we use snipping tool or Win+PrtScn shortcut. This is the most basic method of capturing screenshots n Windows-based machines.

Method 1:

The easiest way to take a screenshot on the Windows 8 Surface Tablet is by pressing and holding the Windows button and then pressing the volume down button. The screen will get dimmed for a second and your screenshot is saved under Screenshots folder in the Photos app.

If the screenshot shortcuts are not working, you should better check the condition of the physical buttons on the device. Sometimes damage to the physical button causes the pressing function and you don’t get the screenshot.

Method 2:

Another interesting method is, press and hold the Alt key then press PrtScn to copy just the active window instead of the whole screen. In this method, the screenshot is copied to your clipboard which you can paste into another program.

There is another way! Press the Fn + Windows + Space key to capture screenshot on Windows 8 Surface Tablet.
