Email Forwarding
If you activate Email forwarding, your email will reach your inbox quickly. If you have access to an email service without forwarding, you can make use of Gmail’s Mail Fetcher utility to grab all emails over the conventional POP3 and SMTP protocol.
If the email you want to configure is Gmail, then you need to visit the Settings and select Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. After that, you will be able to click Add a Forwarding Address. You will have to provide your email address. You will receive a confirmation link, which you have to click to proceed further. You can make use of the relevant forwarding options.
Mail Fetcher
To work with Mail Fetcher for a non-forwarding feature, you need to select Accounts and Import section in Gmail’s settings and select the Add a POP3 mail account you own option. You need to provide the email address of any other third-party email account. The relevant POP3 settings should be provided, which you will get from another email provider. For example, if you have purchased a web hosting plan, your hosting provider will supply the required information for configuring POP3 and SMTP settings.
You should not panic if you are not receiving the emails after configuration of the Mail Fetcher feature. Gmail service will verify whether your POP3 account has emails. However, it will take few minutes to receive inside your Gmail account.
Bypassing the delay
To bypass the delay, you need to enable the Refresh POP Accounts to feature in the Labs tab from within Gmail’s settings pane. You will view a refresh button in Gmail. If you select it, you will be able to select your POP3 accounts.
Send As
To activate Send As feature, you need to navigate to the Settings panel on the mail email address, select the Accounts and Import tab and opt for the link captioned Add Another Email Address You Own. You can add any email address even if it doesn’t provide support for SMTP protocol.
You will have to uncheck the Alias box. Otherwise, users will be able to view your primary email address when you try to send emails from another id. If you are adding a Gmail address, you need to select Send Verification button.
If you provide a non-Gmail address, you will have relevant SMTP server information. If you make use of the Send Through Gmail option, Gmail will automatically send emails through the servers hosted by Gmail. Moreover, the recipients will be able to view your primary email address.
After completing the process, you need to click the From box while composing a message. When you reply to a message, Gmail will automatically select the relevant email address. You can also specify your default email address by navigating to the Accounts and Import settings pane.
As you can see, Gmail provides plenty of options to combine all your email messages into one single Gmail account. You will be able to achieve enhanced productivity in your daily work.
