Black Friday Tech Deals 2026: Store-by-Store Calendar for US Shoppers

Black Friday 2026 lands on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30. Here’s what Best Buy, Walmart, Target and Amazon have actually confirmed, what’s still a guess, and how to use holiday price match rules so you don’t buy too early.

Every year the same thing happens. Stores start saying “Black Friday” in October, my inbox fills up with “early deals,” and I start wondering whether I should buy now or wait. If you’re planning a TV, laptop, headphones or console upgrade this season, you probably have the same question.

So I put together a simple calendar for US shoppers. I’m only listing dates the retailers have confirmed on their own newsrooms or websites. Anything else is clearly marked as reported, unconfirmed or a forecast. As I write this on November 7, 2026, a few big stores still haven’t published everything, so I’ll tell you exactly where the gaps are.

If you’re still deciding what to buy, start with our Black Friday 2026 tech buying guide, which covers what’s worth buying and what to skip. This post is about when.

Quick answer: Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, right after Thanksgiving on November 26, and Cyber Monday is November 30. Best Buy and Target have both confirmed holiday price match windows (Best Buy through December 31 purchases, matched until January 15, 2027; Target from November 1 to December 24), so buying a good deal early is low risk at those two stores. Walmart and Amazon haven’t confirmed their 2026 event dates on their own sites as of November 7. Amazon’s Black Friday Week started November 20 last year, and some deal trackers forecast a November 19 start this year, but treat that as a guess.

The Key Dates for Black Friday 2026

These come straight from the calendar, so there’s no guessing here.

  • Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 26, 2026
  • Black Friday: Friday, November 27, 2026
  • Cyber Monday: Monday, November 30, 2026

Black Friday falls fairly late this year. That gives stores a long runway for “early” sales, which is exactly why price match policies matter so much in 2026.

A simple Black Friday 2026 plan: get ready in early November, then buy only real price drops

Store-by-Store Calendar

Here’s the short version. I’ll explain each store below the table.

Store What’s confirmed What’s not confirmed yet
Best Buy Official 2026 holiday calendar published with Doorbusters through the season; extended store hours started Nov 1; Holiday Price Match on purchases through Dec 31, matched through Jan 15, 2027 Exact Black Friday and Cyber Monday event dates (I couldn’t verify them on the official page)
Walmart Nothing for 2026 on Walmart’s corporate newsroom when I checked All 2026 event dates; reports exist but I couldn’t confirm them
Target Holiday Price Match from Nov 1 through Dec 24, 2026 Black Friday week dates (not announced)
Amazon Early discounts are already live on the site Black Friday Week dates (not announced as of Nov 4); Nov 19 start is a forecast
Macy’s and others No 2026 schedule as of Nov 4 Everything

Best Buy

Best Buy has published its official holiday calendar, titled “Best Buy reveals holiday calendar with Doorbusters and deals throughout the season.” You can see it on Best Buy’s 2026 holiday calendar page. Extended store hours began November 1.

Here’s my honest problem: I couldn’t read the specific event dates on that official page. I’ve seen reported dates floating around, including a few that disagree with each other about when early deals started. Rather than print a date that turns out wrong, I’d rather send you to the page itself. Check it before you plan a store trip.

The good news is that Best Buy’s holiday price match (more on that below) takes most of the pressure off the timing question.

Walmart

Walmart is the big gap this year. When I checked, I couldn’t find a 2026 Black Friday release on Walmart’s corporate newsroom. There are reports going around about this year’s events, but I haven’t been able to confirm them from Walmart itself, so I’m not listing them.

What I can tell you is last year’s pattern, which did come from Walmart’s newsroom. In 2025 Walmart ran two Black Friday events, November 14 to 16 and November 25 to 30, plus Cyber Monday deals on December 1. Walmart+ members got early access. If Walmart follows a similar shape in 2026, expect an early event in mid-November and a bigger one in Thanksgiving week. That’s an educated guess based on last year, nothing more.

Target

Target has confirmed its Holiday Price Match runs through December 24 in its official holiday FAQ on the Target holiday shopping information page. That’s the most useful date Target has given us so far.

Target hasn’t announced its Black Friday week dates yet. I’ve seen a prediction that it starts around November 22, but that’s a guess, not an announcement.

Amazon

Amazon hadn’t announced its 2026 Black Friday dates as of November 4, though early discounts are already showing up on the site. Last year, Amazon’s Black Friday Week ran from November 20 through Cyber Monday on December 1.

Some deal trackers expect a November 19 start this year. Please treat that as a forecast. I’ll keep an eye on Amazon’s own news page for the official word. And if you’d rather compare prices beyond Amazon, our list of Amazon alternatives for online shopping is a handy starting point.

Other Retailers

As of November 4, Macy’s and other retailers hadn’t published 2026 schedules. I’ll update this when they do.

Which Tech Tends to Be Cheapest When (My Take)

I want to be upfront here. I couldn’t find any official source that says “buy TVs in week X and laptops in week Y.” So what follows is my own opinion from watching sales over the years, not a rule.

Big-ticket items like TVs tend to show up early as headline Doorbusters, because stores want them in the ads. If you see a TV at a price you’re happy with in early or mid-November at Best Buy or Target, I’d usually just buy it and lean on the price match window.

Headphones, smart speakers and streaming sticks get discounted again and again through the season. I rarely panic about these. They often come back around.

Laptops are trickier because there are so many configurations. Two laptops with nearly identical names can have different storage or RAM, so compare the exact model number, not just the name.

Storage, like SSDs and memory cards, often goes on sale too. One tip: if you’re shopping for more storage only because a big game won’t install, check our guide on how to fix the GTA 6 preload “not enough storage” error first. You might be able to free up space without buying anything.

Storage worth watching on Amazon

If you were going to buy storage anyway, these are the ones I would keep an eye on. Check the current price on Amazon, and make sure the listing is the exact model below.

Cyber Monday has traditionally leaned online. If you hate crowds, that’s your day.

How to Track Prices Without Losing Your Mind

You don’t need fancy tools. You need a record. Here’s what I do.

Before the sales start, I write down (or screenshot) the current price of everything on my list, along with the date and the exact model number. That gives me a baseline, so I can tell whether a “deal” is real or just the normal price with a red tag.

Most big retailers let you save items to a list or wishlist in their app, and some offer price alerts. I couldn’t confirm the exact menus for each store, so poke around the product page in the app you use. Price history tracker tools exist too, and they’re handy for seeing whether today’s price is actually low.

Most important of all: keep your receipts and order confirmations. Both Best Buy and Target require proof of purchase for price adjustments. A screenshot of the lower price, with the date visible, also helps.

Holiday Price Match Rules: Best Buy and Target

This is the part that actually saves money, so I read the fine print on both stores’ official policy pages.

Best Buy Holiday Price Match Guarantee

Items bought through December 31, 2026 can be price matched through January 15, 2027. In plain English: if Best Buy lowers its own price after you buy, you can ask for the difference.

A few catches, straight from Best Buy’s policy:

  • It only covers Best Buy’s own lower price on a new product that’s immediately available.
  • It does not cover competitor prices. Best Buy says plainly, “The Guarantee does not apply to price matching competitor’s prices.”
  • Items left out of the extended holiday return period are excluded. That includes phones bought on a carrier contract, AppleCare+, holiday decor and non-returnable items.
  • Best Buy won’t match a sales tax holiday price if the pre-tax price is the same or higher.
  • Puerto Rico stores have their own policy.

I couldn’t confirm when this holiday window started, so if you bought something in late October, ask the store. I’ve also seen a claim that Best Buy’s normal competitor matching (say, against Amazon) is switched off from November 19 to November 30. I couldn’t confirm that from Best Buy, so ask before you rely on it.

Target Holiday Price Match

From November 1, 2026, if the price of something you bought at Target drops on or before December 24, 2026, you can ask for the difference. You’ll need proof of purchase.

It covers Target’s own prices only: Target.com, Target stores and automatic Target Circle deals. Outside that window, Target’s normal 14-day price match applies, and the item has to be identical, right down to brand, size, color and model number.

Some limits worth knowing: you can’t match another Target store’s in-store price, you can’t match Target items to Target Plus items, and if you use the Target app to show a price, it has to show your current store’s price. Online and app price matches aren’t available in Alaska or Hawaii.

Best Buy Target
Holiday window Purchases through Dec 31, 2026; claims through Jan 15, 2027 Nov 1 to Dec 24, 2026
Matches competitors during holiday guarantee? No No (Target’s own prices only)
Notable exclusions Carrier-contract phones, AppleCare+, holiday decor, non-returnable items Other Target stores’ in-store prices, Target Plus items; online/app matches not in Alaska or Hawaii
Proof needed Yes, keep your receipt Yes, proof of purchase

My Simple Black Friday Plan

Here’s the plan I’d follow this year. It’s boring, and that’s the point.

  1. Make a short list now, with exact model numbers and today’s prices.
  2. Set a “happy price” for each item, the price where you’d buy without regret.
  3. If Best Buy or Target hits your happy price early, buy it. Their holiday price match covers you if their own price drops later.
  4. For Walmart and Amazon, where 2026 dates aren’t confirmed yet, check their official news pages in mid-November before you commit.
  5. Keep every receipt and screenshot until mid-January.
  6. Check prices again on Black Friday (Nov 27) and Cyber Monday (Nov 30), and claim any difference you’re owed.

What I’d avoid is buying from a store without a holiday price guarantee in early November just because a banner says “Early Black Friday.” If the price drops later, you may be stuck.

Final Thoughts

The dates that matter are locked in: Thanksgiving on November 26, Black Friday on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30. Best Buy and Target have made early shopping a lot less risky this year with their holiday price match windows, as long as you remember they only match their own prices.

Walmart and Amazon are the open questions right now. I’ll update this calendar as soon as they confirm dates on their own sites. Until then, make your list, know your happy price, and don’t let a countdown timer rush you.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27. Thanksgiving is the day before, Thursday, November 26, and Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30.

Does Best Buy match Amazon prices during Black Friday?

Best Buy’s Holiday Price Match Guarantee only covers Best Buy’s own lower prices, not competitors. There are claims that its regular competitor matching is paused from November 19 to November 30, but I couldn’t confirm that with Best Buy, so ask in store or online before you buy.

How long does Target’s holiday price match last in 2026?

Target’s Holiday Price Match runs from November 1 to December 24, 2026. If Target lowers its own price on an item you bought in that window, you can ask for the difference with proof of purchase.

When does Amazon’s Black Friday sale start in 2026?

Amazon hadn’t announced its 2026 dates as of early November. Last year its Black Friday Week ran from November 20 to December 1, and some deal trackers forecast a November 19 start this year, but that’s only a prediction.

Has Walmart announced its Black Friday 2026 dates?

I couldn’t find a 2026 announcement on Walmart’s corporate newsroom when I checked. In 2025, Walmart held events on November 14 to 16 and November 25 to 30, with Cyber Monday deals on December 1, so a similar pattern is possible but not confirmed.
