Galaxy S27 Launch Date: What We Know So Far
Samsung hasn't announced the Galaxy S27 yet. Leaks point to January 2027, with February possible. Here's past Unpacked timing and whether to wait.

I keep getting the same question from friends: should I buy the Galaxy S26 now, or hold out for the S27? Fair question. The trouble is that Samsung itself hasn’t said a word about the S27 yet.
So here’s what I can tell you. I’ll keep the confirmed stuff and the rumours clearly apart, because a lot of what’s floating around right now is guesswork.
Quick answer: Samsung has not announced a launch date for the Galaxy S27. Leak reports point to January 2027, with February 2027 also possible, so treat both as rumour. Going by Samsung’s past habits, the official invite would likely show up about two weeks before the event.
What Samsung has actually confirmed
Nothing about the S27. As I write this in early November 2026, there’s no S27 announcement and no Unpacked invite. Galaxy Unpacked is Samsung’s big launch event, and the invite is usually the first official sign that a new phone is close.
What we do have is Samsung’s track record, and it’s pretty consistent.
| Phone | Unpacked date | Where | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S24 series | January 17, 2024 | San Jose, CA | Confirmed by Samsung |
| Galaxy S25 series | January 2025 | SAP Center, San Jose | Confirmed by Samsung |
| Galaxy S26 series | February 25, 2026 | San Francisco | Confirmed by Samsung |
| Galaxy S27 series | January 2027, maybe February | Unknown | Rumour only |
The S26 was the odd one out. It arrived in late February instead of January. Samsung unveiled it alongside the Galaxy Buds4 series and called it its third-generation Galaxy AI phone. You can read Samsung’s own first look at the Galaxy S26 series for the official details. Worldwide availability followed in March 2026.
When the S27 invite might go out
For the S26, Samsung posted the Unpacked invitation on its Global Newsroom on February 11, 2026. The US Newsroom had it a day earlier. That’s roughly two weeks before the February 25 event.
Earlier years seem to have had a similar gap, but I couldn’t confirm the 2024 and 2025 invite dates on Samsung’s own pages. So I’d call “about two weeks” a habit rather than a rule. A January launch would mean an invite in early January.
The rumours, and how much I trust them
Several leak reports agree that Samsung is planning four models: Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. A new Pro model would be a change from the usual three. Still unconfirmed.
On timing, reports from around mid-October 2026 say Samsung may launch earlier than it did with the S26. Others say the date isn’t locked yet, with February as the latest. Put together, January 2027 looks like the target and February is the fallback.
Reports also say parts for the Pro and Ultra were still being finalised, and they don’t fully agree with each other. That’s why I’m not listing specs, prices or colours here. I couldn’t find any that held up across multiple leaks.

Should you buy the Galaxy S26 now or wait?
Samsung has put out a new S phone every 12 to 13 months lately. If the S27 lands in January or February 2027, that’s only two to four months away.
If your current phone is dying, cracked, or can’t get through a day, buy the S26. Waiting months with a broken phone isn’t worth it for a device nobody has officially seen. If your phone works fine, waiting costs you nothing, and you’ll see what the S27 really offers before spending money.
I can’t tell you what Samsung will do with S26 pricing once the S27 is out, so don’t count on a specific discount.
Already on an S26? Keep it updated. If One UI 9 is giving you trouble, my guide on fixing One UI 9 battery drain and freezing should help. S26 Ultra owners stuck at setup can check how to fix the Samsung Account sign-in loop.
Whatever Galaxy you have, install the latest security update when it lands. Here’s what’s in the Samsung November 2026 security patch.
What’s next
The next real signal will be an Unpacked invite on Samsung Newsroom. Until that appears, every S27 date you see is a guess. I’ll update this post as soon as Samsung confirms anything.
Frequently Asked Questions

No. As of early November 2026, Samsung has not announced the Galaxy S27 or sent out an Unpacked invite. Any date you see right now comes from leaks.
When is the Galaxy S27 expected to launch?
Leak reports point to January 2027, with February 2027 also possible. The same reports suggest four models: S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. Samsung hasn’t confirmed any of this, so treat it as rumour.
Should I buy the Galaxy S26 or wait for the S27?
